Way back in 2012 I had a tradition of picking the silliest way I knew how to say “Happy Holidays” in this space.

Last year and the year before that I got all serious here and discussed capitalism and The Volker Rule during the holiday season.  Thank you for continuing to read this stuff in spite of that

So, this holiday season I’ve revived the tradition of the silly season.  I will celebrate it with 2 versions of the venerable classic “The 12 Days of Christmas.”  The first is a version written by this author, entitled “The 12 Days of Winter, A Realtor’s Lament”.  You may sing along to the tune of the original:

The 12 Days of Winter – A Realtor’s Lament

(sung to the tune of “The 12 Days of Christmas”)

On the first day of winter, my clients gave to me:

2 oil spills

And a listing that’s a short sale

On the third day of winter my clients gave to me

3 flood zones

2 oil spills

And a listing that’s a short sale

On the fourth day of winter my clients gave to me

On the seventh day of winter my clients gave to me

7 contract breaches

And a listing that’s a short sale

On the tenth day of winter my clients gave to me

Well, now that we’re all warmed up in the spirit of the season, here’s another silly version which signifies my surrender to the YouTube generation.  Enjoy:

That’s probably enough silliness for this year.  Happy Holidays.  See you in the new year for more serious stuff (you’ve been warned…).
